OUR STORY
Club Profile
Endeavour Pistol Club participates in various disciplines of sports shooting. The Club has over 130 members, ranging from juniors to seniors, both women and men. The Club participates in matches such as Service, Rim-fire, Centre-fire, Metallic Silhouette and Air Pistol. The Club is also affiliated with the SSAA. We encourage safe and friendly competitions.
Endeavour Pistol Club was founded in 1994. At that time the members were without a range of their own so a range in the Rocks area was hired for the first Saturday of every month. Members also competed at other venues within NSW. In 1998, with the assistance of Government funding from the Department of NSW Sport & Recreation and dedicated members, the Kirrawee Air Pistol Range was completed and officially opened by the Honourable MP Danna Vale. Unfortunately, the range had to close on June 30, 2025 as the lease had expired. The Club also uses a live range at Sydney Pistol Club, La Perouse, usually every first and third Saturday morning of the month (see Club calendar) where it also conducts the live fire Club Championships twice a year.
New membership enquiries are always welcome.

How do I obtain a Pistol Licence?
1 To obtain a pistol licence you need to be a member of a pistol club and have a “genuine reason”, which is for sport & target shooting.
2 Before you start shooting, you complete a NSW Firearms P650 form, which stipulates you have no criminal convictions, or have not had an AVO against you in the last 10 years.
3 You can shoot by completing a P650 form, required every time you shoot.
4 Once you join the Club, you then have one month to do your Pistol Licence test (an oral and written test carried out at Sydney Pistol Club, La Perouse on a Saturday as per the Club Calendar). On completion of this test you will then undergo a Police check before Firearms Registry will issue you with a Probationary Pistol Licence (“PPL”) which is valid for 12 months.
5 You will continue shooting and be provided with safety awareness training and need to progress through the NSW FAR training model.
6 For the first six months while on your PPL you are not permitted to own a pistol.
7 After the first six months of your PPL, you can then apply for a “Permit to Purchase” to obtain your first pistol. You will be restricted to purchasing a maximum of two pistols while on your PPL.
To obtain a pistol you must have an approved safe installed.
Information on storage of pistols and their transportation is covered in your training.
